NYC: Brooklyn Bridal Show at BAM

Monday, May 10th, 2010

It’s been a while since the event but I wanted to share some photos from the Great Performances bridal show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.  What a great event for engaged couples — there were so many wonderful vendors there!  Here’s the beautiful space at BAM, still getting set up for the event:

Our booth was vintage-themed, complete with old crates and airplane toy props (thanks Val!):

I think my favorite part of the whole booth was the Mason jar with white tulips.  Obviously I’m not a florist but there’s something about tulips that just scream ’springtime’ and ‘wedding:’

We were lucky enough to share our area with Kelly Guenther, one of my favorite photographers:

Kelly had a cute interactive photobooth set up for guests of the show to try out:

Just around the corner, Kumquat Cupcakery set up their adorable mini cupcake stand:

Of course there were all sorts of yummy sweets at the show.  Here’s Nunu Chocolates showing off their favor boxes and giving out free samples:

I couldn’t tell you about the show without featuring Opalia Flowers.  I’ve seen these guys at several shows in Brooklyn in the past few months and they blow me away every time.  Check out these stunning bouquets and arrangements they brought for their table:

Jillian Clark Events, Love, Jenna, and Blossom and Branch set up this amazing tablescape with two themes — one was definitely ‘Marie Antoinette’ with gold, pink, and glitter and the other more like ‘Preppy Summer’ with bright hues and perfectly mismatched matching:

Here’s the Marie Antoinette side.  Isn’t that arrangement gorgeous?  I loved the calligraphic place cards and the pink china:

Here’s the other side of the table, complete with silhouette place cards, polka dots, and criss-crossed ribbons as a table runner.  Check out the centerpieces…aren’t they adorable?

Here’s a closer shot of the favors, a little bottle of punch (or booze?) with a hand-tied favor tag.  If you’re a Brooklyn Bride, you’ll know exactly what the text says on those tags and where the wedding must be:

I hope that Great Performances schedules another show like this — it really was a fabulous event!

Congratulations Val & Andy! (part 3 : the afterparty)
