A Pumpkin Post

Pumpkins are the epitome of fall. So many traditions come from this seasonal squash. One of the perks of planning an autumn wedding is that the traditions at your fingertips are perfectly adorable. From fall leaves to apple cider to fresh pies, it can be overwhelming to select the fall traditions you want to include. Pumpkins are a quintessential aspect of fall and can easily fit into your wedding. Because of their fall status, they can function in any way that you think fits into your special day.  One easy place to start is with using pumpkins as decoration for the ceremony and reception. They can become the vases of a centerpiece and they look great lining the aisle when you walk towards your sweetheart (photo-op anyone?). Mini gourds make great decorative tea lights and can also serve as placecards or food labels. Speaking of food, don’t forget about eating those pumpkins! From pumpkin ravioli to pumpkin pie, there are so many foods to choose from. Don’t let all the fall inspired ideas overwhelm you. Check out these festive ideas below and start planning your own cute ideas!

A Little Italian Dream

I’ll admit it. I have the travel bug. Yup. It’s come in full force and at quite an inopportune time seeing as I do not have the time or money to drop my things and start jet setting around the world. As a wedding blogger, I have decided to put my wanderlust to good use and make honeymoon recommendations for anyone who wants a memorable sejour for their first few days a married couple. For this post I thought I’d highlight a destination that has been on my Pinterest dashboard for quite some time now: the Amalfi Coast.

Now I have never been there myself, but ever since I started my Italian lessons in January, I have been conducting some very thorough research on the topic. I’m what some people might call an expert. So close your eyes. Well, actually don’t because there is no way that you would be able to read this. Ok, imagine yourself walking along the cobblestone streets with the salt water smell under your nose. I’m 99.9% sure that they only have sunny days. I mean look at these pictures! Complete paradise!

One of the coolest things about the island is the walkway that connects the different towns along the coast.  There are so many gorgeous places, it’s hard to believe that people live there year round! Gorgeous towns with sweeping ocean views! What’s not to love? While this definitely didn’t cure my wanderlust, I am now even more excited to see it for myself! So what do you think? Possible contender for your honeymoon destination? Leave a comment below!

Popping the Bigger Question

It’s finally time. You’ve made your decision to ask her, but how are you going to do it? You’re super nervous that she’ll say no and that would be a bummer because while you can always ask someone else, it’s just not the same without your special girl by your side. That’s right. It’s time to ask your girls to be your bridesmaids! So you’ve done the hard part and narrowed down your list. Now you have to follow through and ask them, but how?! Recently I have seen a lot of really cute ideas for asking your girls. There is everything from the sit down lunch to the well thought out proposal down on one knee. Whichever way you chose, here are a few cute ideas to add some personality to this awesome moment.

1. Wine
Okay, I can’t be the only one who immediately thinks of Olivia Pope. Just add some popcorn and you have the perfect Scandal inspired gift basket! I love the idea of adding a label to make it a personalized gift. Check out Etsy for some cute personalized ideas.

2.Balloon Box
I can’t take credit from this idea that I found on Pinterest, but this is such a fun one! Write a note asking your girl to be your bridesmaid. Place the note and some confetti into a balloon. Blow it up and place the balloon in the box. Simple as that! It’s a fun, easy and cheap way to “pop” the question (see what I did there?).  You can get the tutorial for this, HERE.

3.Mix Tape
There’s nothing like a song to remind you of all the good times. Burn a CD of your favorite songs together and add a cute note. Remind your girl of all those good times in high school that you spent listening to the radio. After a few songs, she’ll be totally ready to make some new memories with you!cd
You can also combine any or all of these ideas into a bridesmaids brunch because let’s be honest, who doesn’t enjoy a classy brunch? Check out this story to get some inspiration. Or keep it simple with a card. Once again Etsy comes in with some super awesome ideas. Click HERE to check them out! And for even more ideas, check out this BuzzFeed article. The possibilities are endless! Have fun and happy asking!
